FST vs Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) designed to enhance a person’s health and well-being. Typically, a client is on a massage table, unclothed in accordance with their comfort level, and is  appropriately covered with sheets.  The qualified registered massage therapist will use oils on the client's body to perform the massage with skin on skin contact.

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a powerful, yet gentle table-based therapy, performed on a massage table. It is pain-free and extremely relaxing.  FST treats a variety of issues, which typically stem from chronic pain and/or mobility issues. During a treatment session, the client is fully clothed in comfortable, stretchy clothing.  Soft, comfortable stabilization straps are used on the lower limbs to ensure quality and comfort of the stretches. FST provides optimal flexibility, strength and pain relief, while decreasing stress, muscle soreness and risk of injuries.  FST  targets not only the muscles, but the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and joints.  In opening the joints and its surrounding muscles, movements are completed with greater range of motion and less tension.
